Shreya Chaudhary is back as the beloved Tamanna in Bandish Bandits Season 2, and her portrayal of the character has resonated even more deeply with audiences this time around. The actress, who was praised for her role in Season 1, has now spoken about her personal connection with classical music and how the series has had a profound impact on her own understanding of the art form.
Chaudhary, who had not previously been deeply involved with Hindustani classical music, shared how Bandish Bandits helped her discover a new love for the genre. "I hadn’t listened to classical music before, but after Bandish Bandits, I did find myself listening to it ," she said. "I always appreciated Hindustani Shastriya Sangeet, but it was after working on the show — interacting with so many musicians and understanding what goes into making a composition — that I truly started to connect with it."
The actress explained how learning about the discipline, practice, and rigor behind classical music enhanced her appreciation for it. "The amount of discipline they have, the riyaaz (practice) they do.All of this has contributed to the fact that I now turn to listen to Shastriya Sangeet in every day of my life. It’s beautiful, and it’s happened organically."
In Bandish Bandits Season 2, classical music continues to play a pivotal role, but the show also explores new genres, expanding its musical horizons. "There are a lot of reasons for us to start loving Shastriya Sangeet," Chaudhary shared. "In Season 2, we’ve also tried blending in new genres, and hopefully, people will accept it with open arms."
As the second season continues to win hearts, Chaudhary reflects on the underlying theme of the show — art and the artists who create it. "Bandish Bandits is all about art, artists, and the beautiful messaging that comes through their work," she said. "After a few days of release, I’m happy that people are talking about the show. We have their attention, and for that, I’m truly grateful."
